The Mi-8T transport helicopter is designed for delivery of cargo inside the cargo cabin, as well as for transportation of oversized cargo on an external sling weighing up to 6,600 pounds (3 tons) and a winch up to 330 pounds (150 kg). Mi-8T is used for construction and installation and other work in hard-to-reach areas and facilities.

Description

Medium multi-purpose transport helicopter Mi-8T has unique flight and technical and operational characteristics. High reliability, ease of operation and maintenance, convenience of the helicopter operation allowed it to become popular all over the world.

In the standard configuration the transport version of the helicopter is designed for cargo and passenger transportation. In case of need the helicopter can be equipped with additional fuel tanks, removable equipment and can be used for firefighting, search and rescue operations, aerial photography and other operations.

The rugged and large cargo cabin is designed to carry a variety of cargo configurations, with a total volume of up to 23 cubic meters. There is a large hatch at the rear and a sliding door on the left side for easy loading. The cab has removable folding seats for 22 passengers.

For protection against icing the main and tail rotor blades and cockpit windows are equipped with electro-thermal anti-icing system.

Due to the helicopter design and equipment it can be operated at autonomous bases and unequipped sites.
