Description

Design and characteristics

The Mi-8T is a twin-engine helicopter that can carry up to 24 passengers or 4,000 kg of cargo. Its top speed is 260 km/h and flying range is up to 800 km. The helicopter is equipped with a number of modern avionics and navigation systems, including a radar altimeter, GPS and meteorological radar.

One of the most remarkable features of Mi-8T is its big cockpit which can be easily reconfigured for different missions. The helicopter can be used for carrying passengers, cargo, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and many other purposes.

Mi-8T is equipped with two turboprop engines Klimov TV2-117 with a total power of 3000 hp. These engines are known for their reliability and durability, making the Mi-8T a popular choice for operations in remote and challenging environments.

Civilian applications

The Mi-8T is widely used in civilian applications because of its versatility and reliability. It has been used for oil and gas exploration, transportation of heavy equipment to remote areas, search and rescue operations, and firefighting. The helicopter has also been used for transportation of VIPs and as an ambulance helicopter.

One of the most significant advantages of the Mi-8T is its ability to operate in remote areas and harsh conditions. Its large cargo compartment makes it possible to carry cargo and equipment to hard-to-reach areas for logistic support. The helicopter’s ability to land on unprepared ground also makes it an ideal choice for emergency medical evacuations in remote areas.
