Oversize Load Air Cargo Transportation
Oversize load air freight is a difficult task for cargo aviation and requires maximum safety of the aircraft. Air transportation of oversized cargo has many stages and begins from the moment the cargo is delivered to the airport.
The choice of aircraft depends on the size of the cargo and its weight. We choose air transport considering the overall dimensions of the loading and unloading hatch, as well as the cargo hold and the maximum carrying capacity of the aircraft.
We use air transport of various modifications. Medium-haul and long-haul aircraft capable of carrying cargo weighing up to 264,554 pounds (120 tons) and volume up to 37,080 cubic feet (1050 cubic meters). Frequently used aircraft are heavy long-range cargo aircraft Boeing 747-400F and Airbus A330-200F, transport aircraft IL-76TD and AN-124 Ruslan, and helicopters.
The choice of aircraft depends on the nature of the cargo and the flight range, we will advise you on the details of air transportation of the cargo and take over all organizational formalities. We help you choose an aircraft of the required modification for the transportation of oversize load and organize air cargo charter.
Air Freight Oversized Cargo Dimensions
As a general rule, heavy and oversized cargo is considered to have the following dimensions and exceeding them:
- Width 102 in or 8.5 ft (2.6 meters)
- Height 163 in or 13.6 ft (4.14 meters)
- Length 576 in or 48 ft (14,6 meters)
- Weight 50,000 lb (22,680 kg)
Any cargo that deviates from these characteristics by at least one parameter upwards is considered oversized cargo.
